Art prize winner with a solo exhibition at the MAC Museum
Exhibition in the museum MAC vom 02.03.2025 - 06.04.2025
Optical and actual haptics are the main components of Etter's mixed-media artworks. Her art represents reflections of the essential polarities of life. Inspiring associations and emotions of inner landscapes of the human spirit emerge. They create impulses for self-reflection - and respect for the beauty of our world and its transitions: light - dark, liquid - solid, dynamic - solidified, loud - quiet, figurative - abstract.
Stefanie Etter's art achieves a remarkable balancing act: she varies her themes and materials - and yet creates works that can be clearly attributed to her as an artist.
She shows natural scenes from many different layers, inspired by unforgettable journeys. Earthy colours and textures, with their quiet or wild power, allow us to feel a deep connection to nature. The perspective of the works is also rich in contrast: directly on the vegetation - or from far above, as in Google Earth.
Etter's cityscapes are also characterised by atmospheric images from the respective season: block-like moments with graffiti on walls, streets and shadowy houses.
The artist uses unusual techniques and special materials to create her enormous three-dimensionality: resin, encaustic wax, textured pastes, pigments, wood, glass, sprays, special papers and glossy varnish.
The award-winning artist is also the author of a book ("Resin Kunst. Erfahren. Entdecken. Erleben." 2019). Holds workshops as a lecturer at her own and other academies. And works in her large studio in Schorndorf.
