Gertrud Schneider is an abstract painter from Stuttgart.
In her colorful abstract paintings, she works with various materials and techniques to create a fascinating world full of stories that share the tranquil power of nature with the viewer and show that even opposites can be compatible.
From an early age, she has been fascinated by nature and has found it to be a place of refuge, where she found protection and security as a child. For her, encountering the natural rhythms of nature means discovering its healing power and energy. Even today, nature is still the source of balance and tranquility that she wants to convey through her art.
Gertrud Schneider's works, which straddle the line between the barely recognizable and the vast realm of the irrational, inspire our imagination with their contrasts and colors while also creating a meditative quality. They offer us the opportunity to immerse ourselves in a magical fantasy world, far away from everyday life, where we can reflect on processes and experience the beauty of the moment and of nature.
The pictures are varied and energetic, created using a wide range of artistic techniques, with pigments, acrylic or oil paints, which are combined with natural materials in many layers.
The relief-like structures and the complexity of her pictures encourage us to look closely, reflect and perceive details.
Gertrud Schneider has been painting since 2006. Since then, she has been working on perfecting her artistic expression and learning from various artists at art schools and the Academy of Contemporary Art. Today, she offers workshops and courses on structure and colors, including at her studio in Stuttgart.
Her first exhibition in 2007 was followed by further national and international exhibitions and trade fair participations, which took her art to France, Latvia, Denmark, Italy, and the USA. Her works can be found in private and public institutions.
