Peter Jaruszewski (JARU) was born in 1947 in the Ruhr area.
As an engineer and managing director of an aluminum foundry in Deggendorf in the Bavarian Forest, he found little time to pursue his artistic passion, painting.
He has been retired for several years and is now working more intensively on expressionist painting as an autodidact.
He mainly finds the motifs for his oil and acrylic paintings while travelling. Referring to his pictures, he can say: "I have experienced all my pictures!" Jaru paints his memories of beautiful places, of encounters with people, he paints feelings and moods. The viewer is thus given the opportunity to take part in the journey and to immerse himself deeply. With their color intensity, his pictures are primarily intended to convey joie de vivre. The quote from Joan Mitchel (American painter) applies to Jaru and his paintings: "If I don't feel what I'm painting, then I don't paint it".
His artist name "Jaru" came about because his surname Jaruszewski seemed too long for the signature. He is also very familiar with him, as his friends have been calling him that since he was in school and studying. Numerous solo and group exhibitions since 2015. Member of the online art gallery Singulart.
